Rio Grande Farm Park Laguna

Out of the 38 acres that make up the Rio Grande Farm Park, 9 of those consist of pond-front property. In alignment with our stated mission to promote healthy living, connect children and families to nature, and preserve Alamosa’s public trail system & open spaces, the Rio Grande Farm Park laguna area (located next to the farm park outside the west back gate) is a spot where folks are encouraged to play, kayak, fish, and enjoy the beautiful views of the Rio Grande River.

Stay tuned for updates in 2026 about the status of a Colorado Parks and Wildlife grant that the Rio Grande Farm Park is in the process of applying for. It will improve access to and amenities of our laguna area along the Rio Grande River and include a request for a Kayak/SUP/Canoe put-in, bank stabilization, fishing access in 2 locations, a fishing pier, and some improvements on the trail from the cooler to the back gate.
