Art at the Park

A Place to Create

The Rio Grande Farm Park deeply values the local artists who make our community a more beautiful place to live. The most recent art project installed on-site is a set of murals called “Creative Generations,” funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and Redline Arts in Society. Teaching artist Eric Dallimore and Think360 education director Jason Diminich worked with local artist Nora McBride, Boys and Girls Club director Aaron Miltenberger, and technology teacher Garrett Pearson to develop and create a public art piece that celebrates the San Luis Valley’s intergenerational community connections.

The installation includes seven murals depicting different aspects of the San Luis Valley, two of which represent the communities of the Farm Park and the Boys and Girls Club of the San Luis Valley. Over the summer of 2021, two large chalkboard panels were installed with the intention that visitors to leave their mark on the park through personal drawings, poems, and stories.
