Cinco de Mayo

Many of the farmers at the Rio Grande Farm Park are set to sow their seeds for the 2026 growing season at the beginning of this month. RGFP Farmers’ yearly tradition of sowing their seeds on the fifth of May (due to ideal warm soil temperatures and reduced risk of frost) coincides with the Mexican American holiday of Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo celebrates the beauty and richness of Mexican and Mexican American cultures; its roots stretch all the way back to the 1800s in California. We celebrate all of our Mexican farmers for their contributions to the Farm Park, as well as to our broader community and country. iViva Mexico!
