June is Colorado Pollinator Month!
In 2017, the month of June was named Colorado Pollinator Month by the Governor’s office. According to the People Pollinators Action Network website, the intention behind this designation is “to celebrate our state’s biodiversity and raise awareness about the important roles that pollinators play in preserving ecosystems and human health, as well as agricultural productivity.”
This year, PPAN graciously granted the Rio Grande Farm Park funds to plant a new on-site pollinator garden with the intention to further our shared goals of sustaining native pollinator species and preserving biodiversity within local ecosystems.
