Successful February 2026 Volunteer Workday at the RGFP
On Saturday, February 28th, volunteers joined RGFP staff members to work on a variety of exciting projects around the farm park in anticipation of the upcoming growing season! Projects included building trellises for our summer tomato experiment, moving logs and leveling ground to make room for further development of our new outdoor classroom, and prepping apple trees in the orchard for the spring to prevent apple maggots. We are so grateful for our volunteers!
If you’d like to join a volunteer workday, they are typically on the last Saturday of each month. Visit the volunteer webpage to learn more about these and other volunteering opportunities. You can also fill out our volunteer interest form at the bottom of the webpage and we’ll be in touch.
Volunteers wrapped and waxed around the bases of our fruit trees in the orchard to prevent apple maggot damage come springtime.
Folks worked hard on Saturday to construct a trellis structure to hold and protect our summer tomatoes.
The Children’s Garden and Outdoor Classroom project is progressing quickly thanks help from the community! Pictured are volunteers leveling the ground for future landscaping.
Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers!
