Successful March 2026 Volunteer Workday and Seed-Starting Workshop at the RGFP

On Saturday, March 28th, RGFP staff and volunteers worked together to accomplish a variety of tasks around the park. Some of those projects included pouring concrete for a future bike stand, preparing garden beds in the children’s garden and in front of the education center, pruning orchard trees, and digging up sod for future outdoor classroom landscaping.

Additionally, a few of our community farmers joined greenhouse staff to learn propagation basics and start their seeds for the upcoming growing season.

Commercial farmers also began cleaning the ditches on the North end of the park in preparation for impending water flows for our fields.

All in all, Saturday was an exciting and productive day at the Rio Grande Farm Park — a great start to what will hopefully be a busy and bountiful summer season!
