Nature Trails Around the Park

The Rio Grande Farm Park is a wonderful destination for exploration along the City of Alamosa’s expansive trail system. The front gate of the park is connected to the bike pathway along Highway 17. The back gate leads to our laguna, which sits right next to the city trail that runs alongside the beautiful Rio Grande River. On the map below, our back entrance is located on the Maddux Loop Trail, which is just steps away from the Rio Grande Trail network.

RGFP is currently working with the City of Alamosa, using generous funds from SLV GO! to develop and expand our walking trail around the Farm Park. It will extend around the park’s interior perimeter, allowing visitors to enjoy the beauty of the native wildlife and learn more about our sustainable agriculture efforts. The city is collaborating with local students from the Boys and Girls Club of the SLV to brainstorm a name, install kiosks, and create signs for the new trail.
